Legacy Five has enjoyed more success in their short career than many groups experience in decades. In their first ten years, The Singing News Magazine, Southern Gospel music’s leading fan and trade publication, has nominated Legacy Five for some 75 Singing News fan awards. Year after year they are recognized as one of Gospel music’s favorite southern gospel groups. The Southern Gospel Music Association honored Legacy Five with Recording of the year and they have had 2 Dove Award nominations.
Legacy Five has been featured on numerous video tapings of the Gaither and friends Homecoming Video series, which has sold multiple millions of copies worldwide. They have also appeared on In Touch, with Dr. Charles Stanley, as well as In Touch Ministries’ sponsored cruises. Legacy Five is also regulars at Dr. David Jeremiah’s Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California. Viewers across America have seen Legacy Five on TNN, TBN, Sky Angel, INSP, GMT, The Odyssey Network and a host of local channels.
The rich four and five part harmony that Legacy Five has become noted for are the result of a masterful weaving together of five unique and versatile talents. Glenn Dustin sings the bass, Scott Howard sings the baritone, Scott Fowler sings the Lead, Gus Gaches sings the tenor and Trey Ivey is the group’s pianist
Long before the two met, it’s easy to see how God was ordaining every step, leading them to each other and to a ministry that would honor Him. They came from very similar backgrounds, each possessing a rich musical heritage. Jim first began singing with his family at the age of five and was writing songs by the time he turned 16. Melissa was an integral part of her musical family, The Shulers, long before she and Jim met, and when the two married, Jim joined Melissa and her family, traveling, singing and ministering across the country. For nearly a decade the two traveled together with The Shulers, and then came the opportunity for Jim to join another very talented group, The Booth Brothers.
The Booth Brothers were just beginning to step onto the national scene, and had already enjoyed several radio hits. Jim could see a bright future with brothers, Ronnie and Michael. “This was an opportunity I felt I couldn’t pass up, and thankfully, Melissa was 100% supportive,” Jim reflects.
The decision proved to be the perfect move. During Jim’s twelve and a half years with The Booth Brothers, the trio became a favorite among Southern Gospel audiences, collectively earning more than 100 industry honors and accolades. Jim personally has received multiple Baritone of the Year Awards, as well as several Songwriter of the Year Awards. He has also written several Number One songs and has enjoyed Dove and Grammy Award nominations. To say that Jim’s time with The Booth Brothers solidified his place at the pinnacle of Gospel Music would be an understatement, and his time with Ronnie and Michael is a time he will treasure forever. “The last twelve and a half years have meant more to me than words could ever express. Ronnie and Michael have become brothers to me, and I will be forever thankful for the great times spent with them.”
While Jim and The Booth Brothers were evolving and rising to the top of the Southern Gospel Music ladder, one constant for Jim was his wife, Melissa. She faithfully supported her husband’s calling to The Booth Brothers, and the two enjoyed singing and ministering together in churches and concerts when Jim’s schedule permitted. Jim’s schedule typically took him away from home more than 100 dates each year, but Melissa, too, found herself extremely busy.
Melissa and Jim started to write more and more songs together, and possess a catalog that presently contains more than 200 songs. She holds a Master’s certificate in Songwriting from Berkley School of Music, and her Homecoming Day hit radio release was named Song of the Year by Absolutely Gospel. Additionally, Melissa became a regular columnist for The Singing News, Gospel Music Quarterly and Homecoming magazines, and she has toured with such popular artists as The Hoppers, The Martins and Mark Lowry. She is the host of the Something Beautiful Women’s Conference and was also featured on the Women of Homecoming Gaither Videos that were released in 2013. “I know I am probably rather biased,” Jim says with a big smile, “but when Melissa steps on stage to sing, or when she puts a pen to paper to write a song or when she walks into her kitchen filled with family, the energy of the room rises because of her enthusiasm and her love for people. She has so many God-given talents, and I am so blessed to call her my wife and ministry partner.”
In the summer of 2014, Jim and Melissa felt the time was right to answer a new call and to embark upon a brand-new ministry. Thus, came the announcement that Jim would be leaving The Booth Brothers to join his wife in forming The Jim Brady Trio. With the complete support of longtime friends, Ronnie and Michael Booth, Jim and Melissa began the search for just the right ministry partner.
In God’s timing, Layke Jones came to the Jim Brady Trio amid high recommendations from some of the industry’s finest, as well as a sparkling resume of achievements and accolades. A graduate of Anderson University, Layke hails from central Indiana where he has been heavily involved in professional vocal work. In addition to spending several years as a singer at Cedar Fair’s Kings Island in Ohio, he is also a highly sought after studio vocalist. He has recorded vocals for artists such as Sandi Patty, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, and was a guest vocalist on a project with the Grammy award winning Gaither Vocal Band, as well as a featured vocalist for the Anderson Symphony Orchestra, performing alongside noted Christian musicians, Jay and Amy Rouse. When not lending his vocals in the studio, this young man stays busy as a trombonist, a choreographer for a number of local schools in the Indiana/Ohio area, and as a vocal coach and a worship leader.
Jim Brady shares, “It’s not every day a voice like this comes along? Layke is an exceptionally talented young man with a deep passion for this music and we’re thrilled to have him as part of our team.”
Bill Gaither adds, “I have been watching Layke Jones develop as an artist for a few years now as a student at Anderson University and I believe there is something very special about him. His voice and his spirit are equally excellent additions to this fine trio; spearheaded by my good friends, Jim and Melissa Brady. The future is bright for the Jim Brady Trio.
With over three decades of world travel under his performance belt, he has developed his concerts into more than just a great show. He uses humor to motivate and inspire by uniquely delivering life lessons. He also has an extraordinary way of weaving songs into his stage performance as he masterfully displays his musical abilities on piano, guitar and harmonica.
Tim’s chart-topping comedy songs are continuously aired on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, as well as other major radio stations around the country. His comedy has been featured on videos that have garnered both gold and platinum sales awards.
Tim is also the host of the national TV hit, The Music City Show, aired weekly on five syndicated networks, including RFD’s FamilyNet, NRB and Heartland.
Recently inking a deal with StowTown Records as their first comedian, the upcoming release of his new comedy DVD, Living in a Coffee World, features material that is not only hilarious, but also family friendly. The video was recorded at Lee University and covers a plethora of Tim’s humorous observations of everyday life. One comedy song tells of him drinking a “freight train espresso”…a monumental mistake!
In one of his zany stories, Tim relays a comical version of the woes of surviving the antagonization of an elementary school bully. He then seamlessly shifts the focus to encouraging kids and teens who are currently faced with untold bullying. This thought provoking moment reaches the hearts of students and adults alike.
Tim’s passion for life is contagious and effectual. The excitement in his comedy concerts cannot be described, it must be experienced. He not only wants people to laugh, his ultimate goal is to utilize humor with a purpose to encourage people to discover real joy and inspire them to passionately pursue their own dreams.
In addition, the music industry reflects Guy’s popularity. His DVD release, The Best of Guy Penrod, was certified platinum by the RIAA, a claim few can match in any genre. Living the country life and being a family man (father to 7 sons and 1 daughter) are a significant part of the personality that is Guy Penrod.

There’s something about the sound of these siblings that harkens us to the halcyon days of hawthorn-filled air perfumed with the pungency of the spring blossoms. They’re 4 string wielding siblings with a strong passion for music that has dug deep into their roots and have taken their music to the cutting
edge of creativity. Southern Raised-Committed to the Lord, each other and bringing their music to the people” defines this phenomenal group of three sisters, Lindsay (bass), Sarah (banjo), Emily (mandolin & violin) and their brother Matthew (guitar), that are sweeping the country with a sound that has been described as “The other side of amazing.” Their most recent album is helmed by Gaither Vocal Band’s Kevin Williams and engineered by the

They have the distinct ability to cross genres, winning the hearts of all who hear them. When asked their heart behind the music, Southern Raised says, “Jesus is the reason we sing, the
passion that burns, the cause we carry and the One we love! We thank Him for allowing us the honor to share His message with the world!” “They thrill me with their singing and playing. They intrigue me with their ideas. They inspire me with their love for the Lord and each other. In short, they are amazing.” -Kevin Williams, Gaither Vocal Band, Humorist and Guitar Soloist
The group's founder and leader, Ernie Haase, was a long-time member of the famous Cathedral Quartet, headed by the late George Younce. Ernie's roots are deeply planted in the rich legacy of music that is both meaningful and thoroughly entertaining. After the Cathedrals bade farewell to their five-decade run in the music industry, Ernie's passion for gospel music led him to a new beginning.
In 2003, he gathered a group of like-minded men who shared his love for God, great harmonies, time-honored songs and energetic performances... and together they have become one of the most influential forces in southern gospel music. Inspired by their heroes, loved by their audiences and blessed by the Lord beyond their dreams, Ernie (tenor), Devin McGlamery (lead), Doug Anderson (baritone) and Ian Owens (bass) perform more than 100 shows yearly in North America and abroad. In 2012 they will have a major tour of Australia and New Zealand, as well as two visits to Europe and a first tour of India.
EHSS' first DVD release (early 2007) soared to the top of Billboard Magazine's Music Video Chart and simultaneously topped the Contemporary Christian Music Video Chart. That same DVD (Get Away Jordan) achieved Gold sales status, and the project's accompanying audio release topped both the CCM and Southern Gospel Audio Charts simultaneously.
In 2008, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound won Gospel Music Association Dove Awards for Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year and Southern Gospel Album of the Year for "Get Away Jordan." The "Jordan" album has also been certified Gold. In 2009, they won another Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year Dove Award for "Reason Enough" from their "Dream On" album.
Released in the fall of 2008, the "Dream On" DVD debuted at No. 1 on the Contemporary Christian Music Video Chart and at No. 3 on the Billboard Music Video Chart. "Dream On" was nominated for a 2010 Grammy in the category of "Best Southern, Country or Bluegrass Gospel Album.”
In 2010 they again debuted a DVD (A Tribute to the Cathedral Quartet) at No. 1 in the Billboard Music Video charts. No.2 and No.3 respectively were the Rolling Stones and The Beatles. Not bad musical company!
EHSS' success continues with each new release, but perhaps their most rewarding achievement is the new generation of gospel music lovers emerging across the globe. The group's contagious energy spreads through entertaining performances ... bringing listeners around the world their refreshing approach to gospel classics and new material that is uniquely Signature Sound.
Ronnie and Michael grew up with the sound of music in their home. Raised in Tampa, Florida, their father, Ron Sr., sang in several southern gospel groups, including the Rebels Quartet. Ronnie and Michael began traveling with their father as the Booth Brothers in 1990. Father and sons ministered together for the next eight years, singing wherever God opened the doors.
In 1998, Ron Sr. retired from the stage so Ronnie and Michael began looking for a new singing partner. They had several capable singers come through the group, but most recently teamed up with Jim Brady, formerly of The Schulers. The newest "Booth Brother" actually had his first gig with the brothers at a Gaither event. "We didn't even have a chance to really practice," Ronnie says laughingly. "We just met him at the event. We ran through a couple of things and then we went on stage!" But the combination worked from the beginning and Jim has become an integral part of the trio.
This trio has been gracing fans and blessing audiences with their appearances on the Gaither Homecoming tour and their own fairly heavy touring schedule over the last several years. They are known for their high energy and humorous yet touching concerts, but their deepest desire is to show God's love, grace and forgiveness through the song God has given them to sing.
The Booth Brothers' dedication to the music they love has rewarded them with multiple awards and recognitions. Included among these are Trio of the Year, Male Group of the Year, Best Live Performer of the Year, Song of the Year and various other honors.
